You can use TyphoonUpload through a web browser or by downloading our windows software.

Question: What kind of files can I send using TyphoonUpload?

Answer:

You can send any files such as photos, music, important documents. The maximum file size is 2GB.

Answer:

Yes! We use 2048-bit SSL encryption when you are sending and delivering files (with our paid account) and your files are encrypted on our server.

Question: Can I create picture galleries using TyphoonUpload?

Answer:

Yes! TyphoonUpload creates thumbnails and picture galleries of all the pictures you upload.

Question: Do I need an account to use TyphoonUpload?

Answer:

No. You can send files without an account from the front of www.typhoonupload.com, but to gain access to our premium features such as sending multiple files, password protection, and many other features, you will need a paid account.

Question: Do I need to install anything to use TyphoonUpload?

Answer:

No. You can use the web interface or if you can download the TyphoonUpload windows application.

Question: Does the person receiving the file need an account, or need to install anything?

Answer:

No, they just need internet access to receive any files you send.

Question: Why is using TyphoonUpload better than emailing someone a file?

Answer:

Email is a great tool for communicating with friends, family and coworkers, but is often used for sending large, critical, confidential and time sensitive files. Email was never designed to be a file delivery system. Emails can be lost in spam filters, deleted accidentally, or not delivered at all due to technical issues. Meanwhile, your assuming the other person received your file, when in fact they did not. TyphoonUpload offers delivery notification, so you know right away that your file was delivered safely and securely.

Question: Is this the same thing as using FTP or BitTorrents?

TyphoonUpload does not use FTP or BitTorrents for its file transfer mechanism.

Question: Where does my data go when I upload it?

Answer:

Your data is stored encrypted on our servers in the Amazon EC2 data center. While your data is accessible only to you, it is also backed up at multiple locations guaranteeing 99.999999999% reliability of your files and important documents.

Question: How long will my data be available online?

Answer:

Your files are removed after 24 hours, but this can be extended at anytime with a paid account.

Question: Can I password protect my files?

Answer:

Yes.

Answer:

Yes! You can use our DropBox feature that lets you send people a URL to your own personal dropbox where they can send you files. You can also embed a customizable dropbox into your own website.
